Yes! Guides live off tips. Gratuity is not included in the tour price. In the service industry, it is customary to tip 18% – 22% of the price of the tour. Most guides have Venmo, Paypal, and gladly accept cash.

Our outdoor adventure company has the best cancellation policy in town. If the need arises to cancel your reservation, we require a 72-hour notice for a full refund or full charges will apply.

Open up your confirmation email first and foremost. The meeting location for the tour you selected is listed in that email. If you do not know where to meet call 970-259-0289 and ask at least ASAP.

If you have a certified ADA service animal that you intend to bring on this tour, please inform our office staff at (970) 259-0289 so we can better accommodate your needs.

Rafting FAQs

- Sturdy shoes- all guests must wear shoes that strap to their feet such as old tennis shoes, Chacos or Tivas. Flip flops and slip-on shoes are not permitted. If you don’t have the right shoes, river booties can be rented from our location for your convenience.
- Quick dry clothing- you will be getting wet so wear clothing that dries fast such as swimsuits or workout clothing. Avoid cotton and denim. Cheap sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen are encouraged.

- Sunscreen and water are highly encouraged
- You may bring Go-pros or other waterproof devices. Durango Rivertrippers is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.
- Avoid bringing your phone, electronic key fobs, wallets, or anything else that cannot get wet, lost, or broken on the raft.

- Professionally trained and experienced guides
- Type V Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs)
- Heavy duty whitewater rafts
- A mandatory safety orientation for all guests
- River booties and splash gear if necessary ($5 additional cost each)

We go rafting in all weather, rain or shine. If the weather looks rainy, bring a rain jacket. We will have fun no matter what the weather does. We also rent out splash gear in case you forgot your rain jacket at home.
4x4 FAQs

- Layers- you will be climbing into the mountains up to over 11,000 ft in elevation. Mountain weather can change quickly, and the temperature drops as you gain elevation. Be sure to wear plenty of warm and cool layers so you can adjust to the changing temperature. Blankets are provided if needed.
- Good shoes- if there is time you will have the chance to get out and do a little exploring, so make sure your feet are ready

- You won’t want to forget your camera, there will be some amazing views!
- Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses- although the temperature drops, the sun’s rays become far more intense as you gain elevation so you want to make sure you protect yourself while in our open-air vehicle
- Water- it is very easy to get dehydrated at high elevation

We go out in all weather, rain or shine. If the weather looks rainy, bring a rain jacket. We will have fun no matter what the weather does. We also rent out splash gear in case you forgot your rain jacket at home. If you wish to cancel your trip you must call us at least 72 hours prior to your trip in order to avoid paying full charges (see our cancellation policy above).

You will need a valid US drivers license, proof of full coverage insurance and a driver 25 years old. Some exceptions can be applied so please call us with any questions.

Mesa Verde National Park FAQs

- Light, cool clothing. Mesa Verde is very sunny and is located in a desert region, so it can be quite warm. However, mountain weather is unpredictable so it is always a good idea to bring warmer layers with you just in case
- Good walking shoes- you will be doing a lot of walking and climbing, so make sure you wear comfortable, supportive shoes

- Camera. You will see some incredible stuff!
- Hat, sunscreen, water bottle, sunglasses- the combination of hot, sunny, and high elevation makes it easy to get sunburned and dehydrated, so come prepared!

Private tours include a gourmet lunch (vegetarian option available), water, informational reading material, park entrance, a guided tour of the park.
