We are looking for reliable and engaging tour guides who will deliver a memorable experience to our guests while touring the cultural and natural wonders at Mesa Verde National Park and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. We are seeking energetic and passionate candidates who share a common love and respect for the outdoors and can offer our guests a unique and unforgettable experience while maintaining the highest quality of customer service.

The job involves 8 to 10-hour workdays, and the position does involve weekend shifts split with other team members, as our tours operate seven 7 days a week. We are looking for part-time and full-time guides.As an Interpretive Guide you will be responsible for:
- Develop your own unique tour addressing various topics that will engage, educate, and entertain the guest. Provide an educational narrative explaining the story of
- the Ancestral Puebloans.
- Ensure guests are comfortable and feel safe.
- Manage and guide small groups of (usually) 2 to 8 people while in a vehicle and on the trails.
- Driving guests from Durango to the various sites within the parks, and back to Durango.
- Adhering to strict timelines associated with the beginning and ending of the tours.
- Pre and post prep activities associated with launching and ending a tour.
- Coordinating with other team members in various aspects of scheduling and prepping for the tours.
- Respect and protect natural and cultural resources, including but not limited to artifacts and ruins.
Job Requirements
- Excellent public speaking skills.
- Physically able to perform duties of the job.
- Flexibility in availability to accommodate guest reservation/scheduling changes.
- Good driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Valid driver’s license
- Current First Aid and CPR card.
- Ability to quickly establish a positive rapport with guests and teammates.
- Work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to tend to detail while seeing the big picture.
- Willingness to learn and expand personal and professional boundaries.
- Availability to train and then conduct tours.
Preferred
- Minimal 1-year experience as a tour guide or relevant transferable skills.
- 25 years of age or older.
- In-depth knowledge of the prehistory of the Four Corners area and Southwest with the ability to communicate that knowledge through great storytelling and oral narrative.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $16- $18 before gratuity. This range is based on potential employee qualifications, skills, and operational needs.

Are you certified to raft on the Lower Animas or other rivers? We are hiring for certified raft guides on the Lower Animas and other rivers in the Southwest. Other rivers we run include, Ruby Horsethief, Westwater Canyon, and the Moab Daily in Utah. The San Miguel, Dolores River, Upper, and Lower Animas, and the Piedra in Colorado. Along with the Rio Chama in New Mexico.

As a Logistics coordinator you will be responsible for but not limited to:
Managing multi-day rafting trips.
Creating menus and shopping lists for Mesa Verde and Multi-day raft trips.
Coordinate with client’s logistics, dietary restrictions, food preferences,
assistant for permits, updating permit compliance and administration.
Scheduling guides on multiple rivers.
Admin functions and duties include payroll, scheduling, permits, data retention, and more.
Preferences:
Extremely detail-oriented.
Experience with Multi-day rafting and logistics.
Current First Aid and CPR.
Current River logs.
Certified Raft guide in the State of Colorado.
